In his statement, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Innovent Solar Park Mr Gregorie Veraeghe revealed that the solar car park would produce the Energy Equivalent of Petrol, adding that the facility’s next expansion could generate energy output “equivalent to a small petrol refinery” once fully operational.
Mr Gregorie Veraeghe said that the new high-efficiency panels and battery storage at the Innovent site are expected to deliver 450 GWh annually by 2028.
On his part, the Minister of energy, Mr Cyril Arnold Grant hailed the project as another bold step in the country’s drive toward sustainable development and energy security.

He said the 30MWh solar park, developed by Innovent and backed by international partners including Face of the Earth, is set to significantly expand Sierra Leone’s renewable energy capacity, stating that President Bio had expressed excitement about the project, noting that it aligns with the government’s commitment to deliver reliable, clean power to communities and industries across the nation.
”This solar park represents more than megawatt” the minister added. “It represents opportunity, innovation, and a transformative shift toward a greener, more resilient Sierra Leone.
He said the Innovent Solar Park is expected to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, create local jobs, and provide stable electricity to thousands of households and businesses.
