A prominent stalwart in the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party, Mr. Mr. Omega Sesay was on Saturday, 30th May 2026, reported dead in a hotel room in Lungi under unexplained circumstances.
According to reports, Mr. Sesay, who was a senior lecturer at the University of Management and Technology, as well as a PhD. candidate at the University of Makeni, was discovered lifeless in the hotel room just hours after the UEFA Champions League finals in Budapest, Hungary.
Sources say he was seen earlier in the day, including in a widely circulated video showing him dressed in a blue vest and red cap.
The deceased, who was also an aspiring APC District Council Chairman in Port Loko District, was actively involved in community development and public service initiatives.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The passing of Mr. Sesay has drawn reactions from colleagues, party members, and community residents, many of whom described him as a committed public servant.
