The opposition All People’s Congress (APC) will rerun sixty-five (65) ward elections in fourteen (14) political districts tomorrow, Saturday 23rd May 2026, ahead of its National Delegates Conference in Port Loko City later this year.
According to a public notice issued by the National Secretariat of the APC, the decision to rerun the ward elections comes “following the ruling delivered by the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) on Monday, 18th May 2026, in respect of petitions arising from the APC Party Ward Elections conducted on Saturday, 21st February 2026, and pursuant to the sustained decision of the Independent Elections Complaints Board (IECB) together with cancellations effected by the Independent Elections Management Committee (IEMC)….”
The rerun ward elections will be conducted by the IEMC, and “all concerns, inquiries, or complaints arising from its publication are to be directed to the National Secretariat of the party for the necessary guidance and appropriate administrative actions.”
The rerun ward elections will take place in the Western Area Urban (8 wards), Western Area Rural 1, Port Loko 6, Kambia 9, Kenema 3, Moyamba 4, Bonthe 1, Pujehun 2, Kono 7, Falaba 7, Tonkolili 2, Bombali 8, and Karene 7.
However, there will be no rerun ward elections in Bo, Kailahun, and Koinadugu districts.
