The opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has officially postponed its constituency lower-level elections that were originally scheduled for Saturday, 16th May 2026.
According to a public notice issued on Friday 15th May by the APC National Secretariat, a new date for the postponed constituency lower-level elections will be officially announced today, Tuesday 19th May, 2026.
While the constituency lower-level elections are put on hold, the party has instructed its members, candidates, and stakeholders to begin preparations for the outstanding Ward-level elections. The National Secretariat confirmed that these ward-level elections are expected to proceed as planned on Saturday, 23rd May 2026.
The party urged its membership to maintain peace and order during the transition.
The APC leadership expresses regret for any inconvenience caused by the abrupt schedule change and thanked party members for their continued patience and commitment to the party’s democratic processes.
