One of the leading flagbearer aspirants in the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Dr.Ibrahim Bangura, has passionately appealed to the people of Bombali District in the Northeast Region of the country that it was time for them to “heal, unite, and build.”
The crowd-pulling flagbearer aspirant, who many regard as the new kid on the block, made the appeal during his recent engagements with the people of Makeni city and beyond.
Dr. Bangura recognised that Bombali District, with its proud legacy of leadership, must rise above the scars of division and reclaim its role as a beacon of peace and progress.
He emphasised that healing is the first step – healing from political wounds, healing from mistrust, and healing from the violence that has too often marred the democratic process.
Dr. Bangura visioned that unity is the strength that would carry Bombali forward. He therefore urged the people to set aside factionalism and embrace one another as brothers and sisters bound by a common destiny.
Dr. Bangura reminded them that Bombali’s greatness lies not in its division but in its ability to stand together, to speak with one voice, and to act with one purpose.
The shrewd flagbearer aspirant spoke passionately about empowering women and youth, expanding opportunities, and fostering inclusive development.
Dr. Bangura stressed that Bombali must build schools, businesses, and institutions that reflect the aspirations of its people.
The learned politician emphasised that, more importantly, Bombali must build trust, solidarity, and freedom – the pillars of a democratic society.
To the APC family, Dr. Bangura called for discipline and respect in internal elections, warning that violence and hostility only weaken the party’s foundation.
To the wider Bombali community, the quintessential flagbearer aspirant offered hope to the people that through peace and unity, freedom can flourish, and the district can lead Sierra Leone into a new eta of progress.
