A prominent stakeholder and team in the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) have urged Sierra Leoneans at home and the diaspora to exercise caution and avoid any form of protest that could put lives at risk or lead to imprisonment.
The party stakeholder and team, who asked for anonymity to protect their safety and membership, dissociated themselves from any planned protest by their party, adding that this is a very critical moment for national awareness and responsibility. They entreated Sierra Leoneans, particularly APC members and supporters, to guide and protect their children and loved ones from being drawn in actions that may serve political interest at the detriment of their safety and future.
They also urged young people in particular to stay informed, think critically, and resist being influenced into participating in unlawful activities, adding that their safety, future, and role in building a better Sierra Leone matter far more than any political agenda.
They reiterated that the SLPP Government has made its position clear that it is committed to maintaining peace, stability, and order nationwide, noting that any actions deemed unlawful would be met with firm enforcement measures.
They strongly warned against participating in any planned protests linked to their APC party, while they advised Sierra Leoneans to stay away from riotous gatherings to avoid serious consequences.
