The Director-General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), Chernor Mamoud Jalloh, has reaffirmed his commitment to accountability, transparency and responsible leadership, while calling for stronger collaboration between the institution and the media.
Speaking during a media cocktail held today Wednesday 21st October, 2026 at Country Lodge Hotel in Freetown, Mr.Chernor Jalloh described the engagement as an opportunity to build stronger relationships with journalists rather than a formal press conference, expressing his desire for a lasting partnership with the media.
He called on journalists to support efforts to improve NASSIT’s performance while maintaining their responsibility to hold the institution accountable for its decisions and management of resources.
He also encouraged constructive criticism and differences of opinion, noting that disagreement should not prevent cooperation in the pursuit of institutional progress.
NASSIT DG described his role as a serious national responsibility, stressing that he was prepared to account for his actions and decisions. “I am accountable. I report what I do, and I am ready to answer any questions,” he said, assuring journalists of his willingness to engage openly with the media.
